Why Wool Matters Presentation
Skagit Woolen Works, a processing mill in Mount Vernon, WA will be here to discuss the history of American wool and what opportunities exist for supporting local wool production. They'll share their passion and joy in processing locally sourced, small batch wool and the importance of maintaining a strong, viable market for wool products throughout the region.
Owners Anna Hosick-Kalahan and Jessica Schwab have been operating their mill for 3 years and are excited to share what they've learned about local wool and processing this amazing natural fiber into a multitude of products beyond yarn. Both life-long lovers of the fiber arts, their work includes processing locally grown fleece for both fiber producers and for their own line of products.
This presentation will take place next to Strikke Yarn & Supply in Make Apothecary's classroom space. Please check in with Strikke upon arrival.
Cancellation Policy : Please note, we are unable to refund within 48 hours of the first class.
