Introduction to Spinning Class; 11/8

Learn to spin wool on your own drop spindle! Try a spinning wheel! Dive into the rich global history of spinning fiber while experiencing different spinning fibers and learning the basics of varied spinning devices. 

Experience: None, beginners welcome

Materials to Bring to Class: Drop Spindle, bring your own or purchase one here. 

Each student will receive 4 ounces locally grown and processed wool to work with and take home. We will have a few spinning wheels for you to try spinning on as well. 

About the Instructor: Gretchen Wilson has been a shepherdess and fiber artist for over 3 decades in Washington and Montana. She raised dairy sheep, and owned and operated a Monroe woolmill,  before spending time in Montana. There she created a textile education program at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Modern Art in Great Falls. Gretchen holds an art degree from University of Washington and now enjoys a small spinner's flock with husband Rob in greater Snohomish.
