Knitting Basics 103 - Small Circumference Knitting

In this class we will explore multiple methods of knitting smaller items in the round as we knit a pair of fingerless mitts. We will practice knitting in the round using the “magic loop” method, as well as with DPNs (double pointed needles). You will also have the opportunity to try two alternate methods, although we will not go into those in depth. This class is crucial if you want to knit socks, mittens, or seamless sweater sleeves in the future.

In this class we will knit a sampler style scarf or cowl. You will learn to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off on straight needles. Ideal for absolute beginners, or those that haven’t picked up their needles in years.

Jethro or Ariana Crochet Cardigan Class; begins 1/9 (4 sessions)

In this 4-part class, learn to make either the Jethro Cardigan or the Ariana Cardigan- you pick! This class will go over how to make granny squares, half granny triangles, quarter granny triangles, and how to connect them together to build the cardigan. After that, you will pick up stitch and knit the sleeves (for Jethro), hem, button band and cuff!

Felted Slipper Class; 1/11 & 1/25

Work up these extra cozy slippers then felt them! In this 2-part class you will learn how to knit each slipper double thick in a bulky wool yarn, then take them home to felt in hot water.

Basic Knit Socks Class; 1/11, 1/18, & 1/25

Learn to knit a basic sock cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset. In this class, we'll use a DK weight yarn so you can practice the basic construction and make a pair of thick and cozy socks. This is one of the most common sock constructions, so after completing this class you'll have the basic skills to explore countless sock patterns.

Ready to learn how to knit brioche? This beginner friendly cowl class is a great start! You'll learn to work this technique while making this super cozy cowl designed by Lavanya Patricella. Perfect for any level of knitting.

Knit a Raglan Sweater Class; begins 1/29 (5 sessions)

Knit your first sweater! In this class we will knit a top down, raglan sweater. You can choose a cardigan or pullover and Rachel will guide you through swatching, picking your size, raglan sweater construction, and finishing with lots of tips, tricks, and encouragement along the way.

Grid Gambit Cowl Class; begins 2/2 & 2/9

Knit the Grid Gambit cowl with us! Learn to kit a mosaic pattern, built in i-cord edging and increasing and decreasing stitches. This cowl is worked flat and is a great skill building class.

Colorwork Hat Class (knit); 3/1 & 3/8

In this class we will be learning to knit the latest pattern from Rachel Kieselburg, made for Strikke Yarn & Supply's American Wool Month! This pattern is yet to be released, but features 29 Bridges Studio Bloom, a Non-Superwash DK weight American Wool, yarn in 2 colors.

This yet to be released pattern is a main feature during the month of February in celebration of American Wool!

Knitting Basics 102 - Knitting in the Round

In this class we will knit a simple hat using the “in the round” technique. You will learn how to knit in the round on circular needles and DPNs (double pointed needles) and learn how to decrease.
