
Knitting Basics 102 - Knitting in the Round

In this class we will knit a simple hat using the “in the round” technique. You will learn how to knit in the round on circular needles and DPNs (double pointed needles) and learn how to decrease.

Basic Knit Sock Class; 5/28, 6/4, & 6/11
Learn to knit a basic sock cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset. In this class, we'll use a DK weight yarn so you can practice the basic construction and make a pair of thick and cozy socks. This is one of the most common sock constructions, so after completing this class you'll have the basic skills to explore countless sock patterns.

Water Lily Summer Bag (crochet); 5/31 & 6/14
Step into summer with a fab new bag! Learn how to make floral hexagons and connect them together with a strap and set off on your sunny adventures.

Blok Top Class (crochet); 6/1 & 6/22
Learn how to make this super simple tank - the Blok Top from Rows. This tank is crocheted in block stitches - use as many colors as you want (we recommend 3- 8). Get creative: crop it, lengthen it, cross the straps, or leave them straight. So many choices! We will go over color choices and help you pick the your palette and color order as well.

Raglan Sweater Class (knit); begins 6/7 (5 sessions)
Knit your first sweater! In this class we will knit a top down, raglan sweater. We will be working on the Cozy Classic Raglan pullover by Jessie Maed Designs.Rachel will guide you through swatching, picking your size, raglan sweater construction, and finishing with lots of tips, tricks, and encouragement along the way.

LYS Tour Sway Sock Class (knit); begins 6/14 (3 sessions)
Learn to knit our LYS Tour sock pattern - Sway! This sweet sock features a simple, all over lace pattern and is knit top down with a forethought heel (perfect for a contrast color!). This class is great for the sock knitter looking to try out different construction methods, but is also suitable for a first time sock knitter. In this class you will learn all about construction and fit of a forethought heel, as well as how to read a chart and knit basic lace.

Fixing Mistakes (knit); 6/21
Learn to fix mistakes in your knitting. We'll learn how to identify mistakes, ladder down to fix them, pick up dropped stitches, and insert a lifeline. Feel free to bring any WIPs with mistakes you'd like help fixing!

Salty Air Tee Class (knit); begins 6/18 (5 sessions)
Knit a versatile summer tee with us! The Salty Air Tee is knit top down with a beautiful lace motif on its circular yoke. Knit it in a plant fiber for a truly breezy summer top, or a fingering weight wool for a seasonal transition piece. This top looks equally cute worn on its own, layered over a dress, or worn as a vest over longer sleeved tops.In this class, Rachel will guide you through selecting a size, teach you how to follow a chart and knit the lace motif, and help you with any fit modifications needed.

Knitting Basics 103 - Small Circumference Knitting

In this class we will explore multiple methods of knitting smaller items in the round as we knit a pair of fingerless mitts. We will practice knitting in the round using the “magic loop” method, as well as with DPNs (double pointed needles). You will also have the opportunity to try two alternate methods, although we will not go into those in depth. This class is crucial if you want to knit socks, mittens, or seamless sweater sleeves in the future.

Knitting Basics 101 - Learn to Knit

In this class we will knit a sampler style scarf or cowl. You will learn to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off on straight needles. Ideal for absolute beginners, or those that haven’t picked up their needles in years.

Crochet Fan Class; 7/17 & 7/24
Beat the summer heat with your own custom handheld fan! In this class you'll learn how to take your love of crochet to a new level and connect your piece to a wire frame for a fan. Choose from a floral shape, or a round shaped (think citrus theme) fan. These fans are both beautiful and functional. This class is great for intermediate and experienced crocheters. Two at a Time Sock Class (knit); 7/19
Suffering from second sock syndrome? Learn to knit two at the same time! This one day class will show you how to cast on and work two socks on one long circular needle, as well as discuss alternate variations for knitting two at a time. This technique is not only for socks, but anything you need to knit two of! Mitts, leg warmers, and sweater sleeves can all be knit two at a time.
