Farm Stories Presentation
February 7th, 1:00 - 2:00pm
Presenters: Skagit Woolen Works
Location: Make Apothecary's Classroom Space (next door to Strikke)
$40
This year we've partnered with Carnation Farms and Skagit Woolen Works for our new look at America Wool Month - Farm Stories. Carnation Farms has been loving caring for Jeff Rogers' Avondale sheep and we are honored to offer this yarn & fiber to you this year for Strikke's American Wool Month. Jessica Schwab of Skagit Woolen Works will be here to tell you about this wool's journey from sheep to mill to you. Jessica was at the farm on shearing day and processed the yarn for us - she has been a part of this fiber in early every step. Come hear her story of this specific wool and learn more about Skagit Woolen Works.
After the presentation we will be hosting a Skagit Woolen Works trunk show in the Make Apothecary space - as a presentation attendee you will have early access to the trunk show after the presentation.
About Skagit Woolen Works
Owners Anna Hosick-Kalahan and Jessica Schwab have been operating their mill for 3 years and are excited to share what they've learned about local wool and processing this amazing natural fiber into a multitude of products beyond yarn. Both life-long lovers of the fiber arts, their work includes processing locally grown fleece for both fiber producers and for their own line of products.
This presentation will take place next to Strikke Yarn & Supply in Make Apothecary's classroom space. Please check in with Strikke upon arrival.
