Learn to knit our LYS Tour sock pattern - Sway! This sweet sock features a simple, all over lace pattern and is knit top down with a forethought heel (perfect for a contrast color!). This class is great for the sock knitter looking to try out different construction methods, but is also suitable for a first time sock knitter. In this class you will learn all about construction and fit of a forethought heel, as well as how to read a chart and knit basic lace. 

Experience: Intermediate. Able to confidently knit small circumferences in the round at small gauge, using magic loop, DPNs, or two circular needles. Experience with sock knitting or lace is not required for adventurous knitters


Materials to bring to class: 

  • 100grams of sock weight yarn (recommend winding into 2, 50g balls)
    • We recommend 29 Bridges Studios Go to Sock, 1 skein (100g). If purchasing before class, please let us know if you want it wound into 2 separate 50g balls.
  • US size 1 in your preferred style for knitting small circumference (magic loop, dpn, etc)
  • Pattern : LYS Tour Pattern available on the tour, or Ravelry (pattern releases May 14, 2025)
  • Homework: cast on and work ribbing
