Herlig DK is a special blend of Viking Norwegian wool and Merino wool that is both beautiful and warm. Herlig means “lovely” in Norwegian, and it’s a name exquisitely suited to the new yarn line from Ancient Arts. Made from 50% Viking Norwegian wool and 50% cruelty-free Merino, Herlig DK brings together the best of both wools for a comfortable, strong, and warm yarn. It’s ideal for sweaters, shawls and other accessories, and especially for projects featuring stranded work, texture and cables. We love how delightful it is to knit with, how silky and squishy it feels, and how well it holds it's shape in a garment.
Viking Wool has been around for hundreds of years, and is found in the Norwegian countryside. This unique breed of sheep is an ancient breed dating back to the Viking era. They teeter near extinction, and have had to evolved to adapt to the climate conditions they live in.
