Beginning Drop Spindle Class

Spindle spinning is a wonderful, portable way to begin your own yarn-making journey. If you've been curious about how yarn is made and exploring the properties of different fibers, this is a great class to get you started. Teachers Anna Hosick-Kalahan and Jessica Schwab will have an assortment of their locally sourced roving to demonstrate with. Drop spindles are available for purchase at Strikke, or you can bring your own. 

Owners Anna Hosick-Kalahan and Jessica Schwab have been operating Skagit Woolen Works for 3 years and have a passion for wool. Both are experienced spinners and are happy to share their knowledge of not only the craft, but the different properties of wool and sheep breeds and how the work for spinning wool into yarn!

This class will take place next to Strikke Yarn & Supply in Make Apothecary's classroom space. Please check in with Strikke upon arrival.
